성주군의 가을 대표축제인 「성주가야산 황금들녘 메뚜기 축제」는 가야산과 대가천변의 청정자연과 황금들녘을 배경으로 펼쳐지는 주민주도형 친환경 농촌체험 축제이다. 메뚜기잡이, 메뚜기관찰장, 고구마캐기, 사과낚시, 메기잡이 등의 농촌체험 프로그램과 박 터트리기, 제기차기, 단체줄넘기, 고무신 양궁 등 어린이부터 장년층까지 가족이 함께 참여할 수 있는 가을운동회가 운영된다. 또한 한마음 가래떡 뽑기, 절편 모양찍기, 스탬프투어, 캡슐 보물찾기, 황금들녘 보물찾기, 전통놀이마당, 나무놀이터 등의 체험 프로그램과 솜사탕 공연, 서커스 챌린지, 키다리 삐에로 풍선쇼 등의 공연이 진행되며, 축산물 무료시식과 지역 농특산물 판매·홍보, 식당 및 푸드트럭 운영 등 다양한 볼거리와 먹거리를 통해 축제의 즐거움을 더한다.
