화순적벽문화축제는 전남광주통합특별시 화순군 이서면 화순적벽과 이서커뮤니티센터 일원에서 개최되는 지역 문화축제이다. 본 축제는 화순적벽의 자연 경관과 역사·문화적 가치를 활용하여 지역민과 관광객에게 다양한 체험과 볼거리를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 주요 프로그램으로는 화순적벽을 직접 걸으며 즐기는 적벽 걷기 프로그램, 환경의 소중함을 알리는 GEO 환경음악회, 심신 치유를 위한 적벽 웰니스 타임, 지역 공공기관 및 단체와 연계한 체험 프로그램 운영, 화순 특산물 판매 장터가 있다. 또한, 적청소년 백일장 수상작 전시와 시상식, 주민 참여형 프로그램(이서 부녀회·생활개선회 등)도 함께 진행된다. 축제 기간에는 무료 셔틀버스가 운영되며, 약 5천여 명의 내외빈과 지역민, 관광객이 참여할 것으로 예상되는 행사이다.
