제45회 태백제는 2026년 10월 3일부터 10월 4일까지 2일간 태백시청 일원에서 개최되는 시민 참여형 축제이다. 슬로건은 ‘상생과 화합의 태백 시민 대잔치’이며, (재)태백시문화재단이 주최·주관하고 태백시, 태백시의회, ㈜강원랜드가 후원하는 행사이다. 태백시청사를 시민 중심의 소통 공간으로 개방하고, 세대를 아우르는 프로그램을 통해 시민이 함께 참여하고 즐길 수 있도록 구성한 축제이다. 주요 프로그램은 8개 동이 참여하는 동별대항전, 태백시민 화합 콘서트, 김장 김치 담그기 체험, 태백시민가요제, 주민자치경연대회 등이다. 이와 함께 태백의 역사를 담은 사진전과 포토존, 태백산소 힐링존, 친환경 놀이터, 유관기관 홍보부스 등 다양한 상시 프로그램을 운영하는 행사이다. 또한 개천절을 맞아 제당골에서 산신제, 단군성전에서 단군제를 개최하여 지역의 안녕과 무사 번창을 기원하는 전통 제례행사를 함께 진행하는 축제이다.
